Did you know that people have been working from the pub for hundreds of years?

It’s true. The pub has always been one of those informal places where you can simply turn up, buy yourself a drink, sit down and work on your latest project.  But is it really such a great place to work?

Researchers from the University of Lincoln, Northumbria University, Nottingham Trent University, and Plunkett UK, with funding support from the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE), collaborated to explore this topic further. They engaged with pub industry bodies, publicans, and workers across the UK to gather insights on the experience of working from a pub.

The researchers found that pubs are a great informal place to work. With a table to claim as their own, access to Wi-Fi and hot drinks, there was not much that workers could not do while sitting in their local.
